In 2010, KapKa moved three blocks from our eleven year home at the “Little Red Schoolhouse” to our current location within the Emmanuel Bible Church complex in Seattle’s Woodland Park neighborhood. Doubling our previous square footage, we now have more classroom space, a larger library, larger mixed-use space for music and art, an outdoor play yard as well as a full-size indoor gym. As learning can and does occur in a wide variety of settings, our classrooms incorporate a range of different spaces and places, including formal and informal gathering and instructional areas. Our students make these spaces their own.
Inside KapKa
Our neighborhood
Woodland Park is our backyard and provides us year-round and daily opportunities for fresh air and physical activities during our school day. We play at the fields in Cannon Park, study at the zoo, and take regular excursions through the 90-acre park. While in the heart of north Seattle, we also take advantage of the entire city’s and region’s resources including Fauntleroy Creek for our salmon releases, Camp Long, the Northwest Puppet Center, the Seattle Art Museum, the city libraries, Camp Orkila and the Cedar River Watershed.
Fall fun in Woodland Park
We walk to many of these places, use public transportation, and drive in carpools from all over the city. To arrange a visit to KapKa, please contact us for an appointment
